Our Vision: 

To support and promote sustainable recreational fishing principally in the Hauraki Gulf and all other regions throughout New Zealand/Aotearoa.

Our History: 

The Hauraki Gulf Sportfishing Club was founded in 1988 by 3 passionate fishermen: Terry Beale, John (Joc) O’Connell and Tony Styles. The club’s original name was the Howick Sportfishing Club until in 1998 the name was changed to the Hauraki Gulf Sportfishing Club.

Present Day:

Our club has continued to exist and mature with a strong focus on developing sustainable fishing practice. Our anglers/members are enthusiastic avid fisher people from all walks of life. We encourage our members to be safe on the water and importantly! - enjoy their fishing experience.
