Akitio Beach is located 75 km east of Dannevirke, approximately a one-hour drive away, and just 35 minutes from Pongaroa.
The Akitio Boating Clubhouse is situated right on the beachfront, offering spectacular ocean views. It provides a welcoming place to relax after a day of fishing or enjoying the many other activities that Akitio Beach has to offer.
The club has around 400 members, with people travelling from as far as Wellington and throughout Hawke's Bay to enjoy the facilities and the area's excellent recreational opportunities. While many members are boat owners, surfcasting is also extremely popular, making Akitio Beach a favourite destination for anglers of all kinds.
